A couple of days ago, I had the opportunity, with fellow Titan Outlet Store co-workers and other Titan Machinery co-workers, to travel to Minneapolis to listen to the likes of Colin Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Bret Favre, and Ron Gardenhire to name a few.

The purpose of the day was to “Get Motivated”, which was actually the name of the event. Overall it was a good day. To have an opportunity to listen to Colin Powell and Rudy Giuliani, along with the other speakers in the same day, regardless of political beliefs, was truly worth the time. The common attributes, it seemed from most of the speakers were – hard work, family, faith, and ACCOUNTABILITY.

Can you imagine what this world would be like if everyone would take it upon themselves to be accountable for one’s actions and in some cases – for lack of action. Accountable for your actions or lack of action in relationships whether it is with friends, kids, marriage, your faith, etc…

Accountable for your actions or lack of actions for the responsibilities you have for the life that was given to you or the job you were hired to do, etc… Just think of how much more productive the world would be if there was more accountability with consequences.

Have you ever heard or said “wow, that person is lucky”. Now granted, yes sometimes, a person seems to be just plain lucky, but did you ever stop to wonder – “wow, the harder one works, the luckier one is”. Now that phrase does not just apply to one’s job or career, it also implies to all aspects of one’s life, especially with your kids, spouse, and your faith.

I commend the speakers we had an opportunity to listen too, for they sure are “lucky”. It is alright to be held accountable. True self-accountability will lead to great success in all aspects of one’s life.
