Not too long ago, a few of my co-workers and I attended the Case IH Red Power Tour Event.  This particular segment of the tour focused on Case IH’s STX, Magnum and Puma line of tractors.  Of course everyone that attended was anxious to see the unveiling of the new STX 600 Quad.  This tractor was beautiful and had a different hood/grill than what the STX 535 has.

The STX 600 has a 600 horsepower engine with up to 660 power bulge.  Now that has some ponies under the hood.  I thought to myself after they announced this tractor, where will the top end be in horsepower.  Really, you can only have so much horsepower before you start pulling apart your implement.

The next stop on this tour was the introduction of the new control arm.  This feature is so ergonomically sound that there is no way one could be uncomfortable.  Just the feel of the control was right.  used farm equipment titan outlet store ag agriculture agricultural farming Most everything you need while operating these tractors is right at your finger tips

I would have to say the stop on the tour that impressed me the most was the introduction of the new Tier 4 engines.  This was very interesting in that it shows the government is trying to clean up the air and is pushing for manufacturers to make improvements.  The engines that Case IH is using are using Selective Catalytic Reduction to meet emissions controls.  Without boring you to death with technicalities, this is the way to go.  The only drawback people might see is that you have to use DEF, Diesel Exhaust Fluid, which is a mixture of water and urea.  This fluid is used to clean the emissions as it goes out the exhaust stack.  You might ask why this is a better system than EGR, Exhaust Gas Recirculation.  More Power:  Engines can be adjusted to maximize Hp versus wasting it on a larger cooling system.  Better Fuel Economy:  Smaller engines displacement can be used with greater Hp, leading to fuel savings. Better Reliability & Durability:  Thanks to reduced heat rejection of internal engine components.  More Fuel Choices:  The engine can still run on all diesel fuel varieties and grades – including up to 100% biodiesel.

If you get a chance to go to the Case IH Red Power Tour, GO!  You might see and hear some interesting things that could help you in the future.
