AgLoop is a new social networking service with farmers and ranchers in mind, created by the people behind HayTalk.com and the other forum websites they use. These guys know how to get people talking – their forums are some of the most popular in the online agriculture world, so a social network is something right up their alley. The site, which the owners hope will become a way for farmers across the globe to connect online, debuted this week, and has gained members every hour since we joined.
AgLoop doesn’t seem to be something that will take over facebook, Twitter, YouTube, or even blogging or forums sites (which this farming social network seems most like), but it’s definitely a nice setting for AgVocates to gather at. The site offers forums, groups (similar to facebook Groups), and video sharing, along with a Twitter-like “@” + username system.
Here’s a screen shot of the social network’s home page (click to view it full sized):

Why use AgLoop? As their “About AgLoop” page says, “Because we are awesome!”
