The preferred choice for farmers of Agricultural Tracks

Tier 4 compliance is a huge issue in the world of farm equipment – high horsepower tractors and combines will need more efficient engines in the coming months, and Case IH is on top of this with their SCR technology.

SCR stands for selective catalytic reduction – which is a fancy way of saying a special muffler cuts down on emissions while decreasing fuel consumption and increasing power.

Here’s a video of a Case IH combine specialist from Case IH’s Be Ready blog during the Farm Progress Show 2011, describing the technology and showing you a cut away view of the muffler:

My favorite line? “The engine’s just there to create power, and do it efficiently.”

While the Titan Outlet Store isn’t ready to sell Tier 4 compliant engines quite yet, it’ll be a few years, we’d like to stay on top of industry news and help you guys know what’s going on.
