Machinery Pete: Record Price on IHC 706 Tractor
A new record high auction sale price was set today (June 4, 2016) on a 1967 IHC 706 German diesel tractor with 3,624 original actual hours sold on a farm estate auction in east-central Nebraska. How much? $16,000.
Wow. I’ve now seen (405) IHC 706 tractors sold at auction the past 20 years. The previous high sale price I’d run across on a 706 was $11,750, that came on a March 25, 2006 farm auction in east-central Michigan for a 1967 model 706 diesel, 1 owner, with 4,870 hours.
Bill Schmitt and son Clayton from Nebraska were at the auction today. “I thought it would bring $10,000 or $11,000,” said Schmitt. “The farmer whose estate auction it was quit farming 15 years and had his first sale. The 706 buyer was from the area.” The auction firm that had the sale was Bauer Auction Co: http://www.bauerauctionco.com/
