Right now, as I type this, our store manager (Don) is traveling with a customer from Uruguay to other Titan Machinery dealerships showing him some options for used farm equipment.

While he does that, a team of freight specialists from Indiana is out back disassembling combine flex headers, pickup headers, header trailers, and other machinery to be loaded carefully into a container to be shipped to customers in other parts of Uruguay.

My (Al) knowledge of Spanish is a big reason I was hired at the Titan Outlet Store. We have an intern (Nick) to help us translate English emails into Spanish and from Spanish into English. We have a strong passion for building relationships, and our solid customer base in South and Central America shows that these relationships help our business as well as the hard working farmers who purchase our ag machinery.

These guys are getting into machinery they’ve never even seen before – Titan Outlet Store salesman Kelly and I had to laugh when we were helping a couple young guys pick out the four wheel drive tractors they came to look at (and eventually purchased). They had never driven an articulating tractor before, so when they got in the Case IH 9270 and John Deere 8850 they were in for a surprise. When they turned the wheel they had no idea they’d be feeling that power steering that articulating tractors bring! They took them for a test drive, decided to buy them, and asked Kelly and myself to put them back in their spaces on the lot (just to be safe!).

We love our stateside customers, don’t get us wrong – but we also appreciate the farmers who take a chance by coming up to Minnesota and picking out modern farm equipment to get caught up to modern agricultural practices. It’s a huge investment, and seeing the smiles on their faces is what it’s all about for us.

Next time you think the Titan Outlet Store is too far away to consider, think about our friends in Uruguay who can’t wait for those containers full of equipment and how close we really are.
